Trout
It doesn't matter where in the world you do your trout fishing,
trout will eat just about anything they can swallow. Small Rainbow trout may target mostly aquatic insects,
grasshoppers, snails and beetles while a large Lake trout's diet may include everything a small rainbow
might eat including the rainbow trout plus crayfish, frogs and mice
etc. The trout is a carnivore so fly dressers world wide have spent centuries attempting to make the
perfect trout fly by trying to
imitate with fur and feathers.

Steelhead
Found throughout the Pacific Northwest, Alaska,
Russia, and the Great Lakes region, Steelhead are considered one of the most prized fish
to catch on a fly. These migratory fish return to their native rivers every year, bringing
with them a cult-like following of anglers in pursuit of them. Although not known to
actively feed during their journey, many think they may hit Steelhead flies out of aggression.
Others believe that feeding on aquatic insects and salmon eggs as juveniles they become genetically
programmed, and so they continue to do so as adults returning to spawn.

Salmon
Salmon are an anadromous animal, meaning they
travel from the salt to freshwater to spawn. Once reaching their native river all
feeding stops, and living on stored body fats, the salmon struggle against rapids,
falls, and of course anglers until reaching the proper spawning water where they were born.
There are five Pacific salmon species in all, chinook, coho, chum, pink, and sockeye,
there is also the Atlantic salmon which is one of the most prized fish to catch with a fly.
